Super 8s

Overview

The Super 8s is not an official Little League All Star team. Instead this team is intended to provide competitive post season tournament experience for players baseball aged 7 or 8.  This team competes in our MSLL Super 8s tournament which includes other District 5 teams as well as teams from other BC Little League districts. The team may also enter further tournaments during the summer.

Player Eligibility

Players on this team must be baseball age 7 or 8 and have played Rookie Senior or AA during the regular season.

Team Selection

Head and Assistant Coaches are invited to apply for the 8s Head Coach or Assistant Coach position in May.  Once applications are received the MSLL Executive Committee votes to appoint the Head Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for selecting the Assistant Coaches subject to MSLL Executive Committee approval.

All interested players will be invited to sign up for the chance to be on this team. If the number of players exceeds 12-13, a tryout will be held to determine who will be the team. This assessment will be facilitated by the Super 8s head coach in conjunction with the MSLL President and Player Agent.

The child of a Head Coach or Assistant Coach is not guaranteed placement on the team.

Post Season Fee

Players who are selected for the team are required to pay a $150 post season fee to participate (please contact the MSLL executive committee in case of hardship).

This fee covers the additional costs associated with the post season such as: tournament entry fees, team t-shirt, pins, umpire fees, baseballs and equipment.  There is no cost to attend the team assessment.

Playing Time

The Super 8s team does not guarantee equal playing time to players. The playing rules will be as specified by the individual tournament rules, but typically some players will play more than others. Post season teams are intended to be a competitive experience, and coaches may use their players in order to provide the best chance to win.

Line up decisions are at the full discretion of the Head Coach. All parents must sign the post season code of conduct and are expected to be supportive of the coaches.

Additional Tournaments/Games

In addition to the tournaments listed above, the Super 8’s may participate in additional exhibition games or tournaments.
