Hello to our Mount Seymour Little League Families –
It is hard to believe we are in mid June already – and so much has changed in recent months. I am so very pleased to send you this update and announce that baseball is back – albeit in a different way then any of us imagined even just a few months ago.
The spring season that your MSLL Executive worked hard all year for to produce had to be put aside – and we are so grateful for your patience and support while we  managed the situation as it unfolded and tried to make sense of the world in front of us.
Mount Seymour has carefully been  following the Return to Play protocols produced by VIA Sport and Baseball BC and we are working hard to make sure that any programming that we produce complies with each and every one of these guidelines.
For our younger baseball fans, I am truly sorry that we are not able to keep you on the field in an organized program this year. We hope that you will keep active, throwing with your family, and come back to us next spring, ready to work and play together again. We will keep you informed of any summer camps that may be run by local baseball schools at parks around the North Shore (and possibly Myrtle!). You are the future of Mount Seymour Little League and we will dearly miss seeing you on the field this year.
To our older groups that we can provide programming for, please remember that we are going to ask a lot of you – to follow new protocols, listen carefully to guidelines given to  you by coaches and managers, respect your teammates and personal space/social distancing that we are required to maintain, and wash your equipment and your hands! At the same time this also means you will be back on the field with your friends, throwing/hitting/catching balls, and working on your skills.
To our parents and families – paraphrasing a recent post by the BC Baseball Association –  “Now more than ever, we need your support. If you can volunteer, please do. If you can’t, we understand. Please remember we are doing our best. We will not have all the answers. Please be patient as we do not know when further restrictions will be lifted, nobody does…..What you want to see, what may have been what you expected to see, may simply be something that cannot be done at this time. It’s not a lack of desire to offer more, it’s a condition of being able to return to play.”
We are committed to doing our utmost best to run a safe and organized and fun summer program for the age groups that we feel we can appropriately do so at this time
By now our members will have received an email from our Registrar, Liz Darling, outlining details of the  MSLL Return to Play plan.  We will be working hard over the next few weeks with our fellow District 5 Little Leagues to complete our League Operating Plan.  Please watch for further updates as this all comes together.
Our registration link for summer programming for our AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors divisions is now open  –   http://msll.spappz.com/register
Thank you and very best regards,
Jasmine Barry
