Mount Seymour Little League (www.msll.ca) reluctantly announced today that the proposed visit on opening day by Blue Jays Josh Donaldson (@BringerOfRain20) has been cancelled. “We were really excited that Josh Donaldson wanted to attend our opening day ceremonies and are very sad to have to cancel his scheduled appearance. Josh is a great player and a wonderful role model to all 560+ kids in our Little League.” said President Jasmine.
The cancellation comes in the wake of an urgent Special Weather Statement put out by Environment Canada which outlined the potentially catastrophic consequences of inviting Josh Donaldson to the Deep Cove area. The statement from Environment Canada was slightly unusual for the brevity and language it contained – simply stating “Bringer of Rain + Deep Cove = REALLY BAD IDEA!!!”
MSLL has resolved to learn from this experience going forward. “Next season we will reach out to stars such as Sonny Gray (@SonnyGray2) of the Oakland Athletics or maybe even look outside baseball and invite the Phoenix basketball team (@Suns) to attend” said Player Agent Yvonne.
